Norwood Park - Memories

Columbus, Ohio

Bill Scholer, via email:

Did you know, there was a Amusement park just down the street from you at Alum Creek and Main called Norwood. It stood from the 1950's to around 1964. The shelter house I believe is still standing. The park had approx. 40 rides, including a caterpillar, Dodgem, Eli wheel, spider, and a large dark ride. The concrete is still seen at that corner where the rides once stood. The Columbus Police had their picnics there and big bands once played there too.
